They say “grow where you are planted”...
Although I am not a native Oklahoman, I have been planted in this great state by way of marriage. Through the years I have grown to deeply love Oklahoma's landscape, “critters”, and people, and I've even grown to love Oklahoma weather. It's true what they say about the weather here - if you don't like it, just wait 20 minutes and it will probably change!
Not very long ago, while on a fast track to law school, I found myself in a Law and Society class led by a professor who went by the name of (yes, really) The Great and Powerful Oz. Professor Oz's amazing multimedia presentations not only opened to me an entirely new way of seeing and thinking about the world, but inspired me to take up photography and to share this vision with the world through blogging.
Over time I came to realize I am not cut out to be a lawyer, and I made the decision to spend my life photographing nature, people, places, and events, and to tell the stories that bind them together.
This is a big and beautiful world, with untold numbers of amazing people and stories. My goal is to inspire people to get out and explore not only the great state of Oklahoma, but any place in the world they happen to find themselves.
Update: June 2, 2013
While this blog is the product of assignments I am doing towards completion of a Master's degree in New Media Journalism through Full Sail University online, my ultimate goal is to produce work that reflects a certain perspective that so far seems entirely different from my neophyte journalistic endeavors...namely:
Happy Trails - Happy Tales!
